Anti-Victimization and Reproductive Health Education

Paula Teacher & Associates, Inc. provides individual and group counseling and education for people with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities. Clients may address issues such as forming healthy friendships, dealing with intimacy, and anti-victimization education. Community-Based Mental Health

Paula Teacher & Associates, Inc. supports adults recovering from mental illness in choosing their own paths and increasing their community involvement. We have a Provider 80 license in Mobile Psychiatric Rehabilitation, and received a Westmoreland County Mental Health Association Award in our first year of providing this service.

 

Habilitation Services

Our habilitation specialists and aides support individuals of all ages, with physical or developmental disabilities and mental illnesses, in home and community settings. Assistance with activities of daily living is provided in a professional and caring manner. We specialize in increasing social and community integration skills. Speech Therapy and Adaptive Technologies

Paula Teacher & Associates, Inc. provides traditional speech services along with non-traditional computer access and programming. Augmentative communication device evaluation, programming, and teaching are available using: Macaw, Optimist, Dynavox, Dynamyte, Portable Impact Tablet, and many others. PECS development and training, and communication board design services are also available. We offer sign language communication and training. Feeding and swallowing therapies are also available. Vocational Services

Paula Teacher & Associates, Inc. operates a licensed vocational facility in Greensburg, PA where consumers are paid minimum wage for actual work. These employees specialize in creative production of greeting cards, labels, and stationary. Contact Creative Production Center Manager Lisa Leach to inquire about this program.

Additionally, we support people with disabilities who work in a variety of real workplace settings, including garden centers, restaurants, nursing homes, and a cooperative farm.
